Futures for major US stock indexes on Thursday fall significantly, investors continue to fear a recession in the global economy, according to trading data.
As of 4:22 pm Moscow time, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Index (DJIA) are down 1.7% to 30233 points, futures for the NASDAQ high-tech companies index – by 0.97% to 11648 points, for the S&P 500 broad market index – by 1.47%, up to 3749.25 points.
On Thursday, Wall Street futures are significantly lower, which continues to be fueled by fears of an economic recession. Unrest intensified after the publication of yesterday’s statistics, from which it became known that annual inflation in the US accelerated in June to the highest level since November 1981 of 9.1%.
„Fears about the growth (of central bank rates – ed.) hit the markets harder than fears of inflation,” – the Associated Press quotes the words of the managing partner of SPI Asset Management Stephen Innes (Stephen Innes).
